porter airlines ✦
As a UX/UI Developer at Porter, I've collaborated closely with various teams to define, implement, test, and enhance UI components across our growing and evolving codebase. Translating Porter's seamless in-flight experience into the digital space requires thoughtful execution that reflects our core brand values.
Supporting the company's expansion from a regional presence to a North American competitor has been a rewarding journey.
neo culture studios
Neo Culture Studios is a freelance company started by me and a close colleague, envisioned with helping family businesses initiate and revitalize their online presence. Web design, web development and branding were promises kept for our clients.
The responsibilities of a small business helped translate immensely to my growth in career and character. I learned a lot in various aspects: sincere professionalism, understanding the value of deadlines and accountability, setting worthwhile goals, and having the courage to blindly jump into the deep end.
chaisweets
Non-profit freelance gig for a relative. I collaborated closely to design a mock website in Figma that showcased the brand's elegant dessert offerings for special occasions and catering services. The goal was to expand the brand identity outside of social media and into a more established digital presence.
portfolio v1
First website iteration to showcase my work, developed in React, Next.js and SASS. Based on a minimalism with a subtle touch of animation for fluidity. A monochromatic pallete and a hint of my favourite color - red. Very akin to this version as well.
The main objectives of the site was visual hierarchy, proportion control, and flow. A lighter or darker tone for each element, margins to promote seclusion and draw attention, soft text size and lowercase so the feel isn't too jarring.
Most important thing I learned from this project was how to encapsulating a theme and focus on sticking with it. There are seemingly infinite alternatives or improvements or new features, but we need to focus on what we are really trying to capture.
There's always time to develop another version.
